for a peaceful solution and soon. >> abc7 news. >> more news now. san jose police have released the name of an officer credited for saving another officer's life during a gun battle. it happened on friday night on tully road. two robbery suspects opened fire on an officer in his patrol car who was pursuing him. the officer in the car was a sitting duck, officers said. bruce barthalamew, a five year veteran of the force, returned fire when he got on the scene. one suspect was injured and arrested. the other is still on the lose. the officer in the car was slightly injured. >>> the head of the san francisco diocese has issued an apology for allowing a registered sex offender to attend a elementary school event last month. the man had a letter from diocese when confronted by the police at the parish. the bishop said it was a mistake to allow him to attend and volunteer at the event. he said diocese policy is no one guilty of child sexual abuse is to be allowed around children. the sheriff's department and the diocese are now investigating. >> coming up, president obama begins his three

morning fremont. it is 60 for you and concord. 61 san jose with 63 downtown. look at the coast. you were in the 40s a couple hours ago. 57 in santa cruz and going for a high of 80 today. and 24 hours ago we were much cooler. so starting out with 5 degrees of warming compared to yesterday at this time. in livermore, half moon bay, napa, we are on our way to temperatures today as much as 6 to 8 degree usa buff the average. so sunny skies and warmer. possible records tomorrow and tuesday with much cooler weather headed our way on wensz. that's our dry day. but then a big trough of low pressure is bringing cold air and the chance of showers. on thursday it could linger into friday. here is a look at what you can expect for the next 24 to 48 hours. we have widespread 80s in the warmest inland locations. 82 santa rosa and redwood city. and then by tomorrow and tuesday the numbers continue to rise. so records could be possible from oakland and san francisco near 80 and with that sea breeze coming back on tuesday for election day, it is just dropping a degree or two in some locations from t

the mid-40s redwood city and fremont. san jose down to 47. you were in the upper 30s this morning by hollister mid-30s and concord and livermore. so the 24 hour temperature change, it's been colder everywhere except the north bay. feeling the chill this morning again in the east bay valleys, in the cities and even eye long the peninsula it was in the mid-and upper 30s hawaii moon bay. certainly chilly out there but the colder air mass is slowly heading out of town. today anywhere from two to four degrees warmer so the sun should feel pretty good. we will look for the numbers to be not as cold tonight. not expecting another frost advisory. showers will beholding off toward the end of the week. and it looks like when we do see the next rain come our way, it's not going to be a big storm, but there is something developing by the end of next weekend. that could be interesting. so here's our pacific satellite and radar composite. notice most of the energy and cold front to the north of us. we had a few clouds spilling over. still we will look for maybe some higher clouds to head south com
